I am using the Create fluid pipes as they are easy enough to make if you have a little copper available. Possibly with augmentations in the extractors it would be more of an issue, but for now I'm just letting it run while I do other stuff. You do not need to power the extractors in any way, but you do need a mechanical pump to draw the fluid (resin) out and into the basin - I don't think speed really matters that much as the extractors work rather slowly.

Apparently you can remove some of the trunk and leaves from the tree (I believe you need at least 2 trunk blocks and leaves above the extractor and on the left and right sides of the tree from it), but I did not want to mess with anything once I got it working.

The extractors need to be placed on the bottom block of a naturally-grown tree (I have it on a floating dirt block here so I had more room to work around it). This is my setup for all 4 extractors on a single tree I've fumbled about a bit after looking at some youtube videos, which were not 100% helpful because C:A&B changes how these work a bit, and this is what I have been able to figure out:

The first bonus quest in chapter 1 requires you to make 4 arboreal extractors, but if you aren't familiar with the Thermal Series mods (and actually a bit even if you are) it isn't that obvious how to set them up.
